Rosario Peñalva Fernandez has been a teacher in Huillo, Peru for many years. The boys and girls speak Quechua as their primary language which is the native language of the village, and Spanish is taught as a second language. Rosario has been a true advocate for these children and has guided ROCF with their projects over the years.
Anne and her father, Bill Schimmel, started the organization 18 years ago after visiting these remote mountain villages above the tree line in October 2000. She has been helping these remote villages ever since.
Maureen first visited the villages in 2006 with ROCF and has been an important team member since.
Carlos has visited the villages to continue bringing dental care after he initially traveled with ROCF.
Monica is an essential volunteer whom has been supporting ROCF and has been translating over 4 years. She was a very important part of our 2019 trip.
Jennie is an administrative volunteer assisting with social media, fundraising and community building and book keeping. Jennie was an important part of our 2019 trip.
Renee has traveled to the villages with the team in 2009 and has been an important volunteer in years past. Renee is a high school counselor and has worked with kids for over 20 years. She runs marathons and iron man triathlons in her free time.
Mary has traveled to the villages with the team in 2006 and has been an important volunteer in years past. Mary is a Registered Nurse who is an animal lover and enjoys helping others especially those who are less privileged. She loves the outdoors and being active with her many animals as well as friends.
Felix, an important part of the organization with coordinating with the villages in the past.
Rene is a head teacher in the region and is an important team member as for information and being the eyes and ears of the communities along with Rosario.
Jhordan is an accountant and helps maintains all the documents, bookkeeping on the Peruvian side and is a tremendous help for logistics.

Beth and Mollie volunteered to deliver 3 duffle bags of sandals to Peru for ROCF, along with other items for the villages. Beth also speaks fluent Spanish and assists with translating.
Abuela Peta has open her house and arms to us volunteers. She also has gone into the mountains to help delivery the food and shoes to the children. Her food for us prepared in her kitchen is heartfelt. We very much appreciate her.
